A 5-Week Online Course For Health Professionals

Everyday exposure to environmental chemicals is the #1 overlooked factor OVERWHELMING YOUR CLIENT’S HEALTH AND DRIVING chronic illness.

Leaders in Functional and Environmental Medicine agree – “Toxicity is the primary driver of disease.

While the need for environmental health & detoxification solutions is exploding, most health professionals still don’t have adequate education or information to confidently counsel their clients.

If you’re not providing solutions to our environmental health crisis, you’re missing a critical piece of the health puzzle that is undermining your client’s results, despite your best efforts.

Leading scientists, health researchers, and functional medicine providers recognize environmental toxicity as an underlying contributor to the most common conditions you see in your practice.

Weight Gain

Insulin Resistance

Brain Fog

Hormone Issues

Chronic Fatigue

Gut Dysbiosys

Heart Disease

Thyroid Disorders

Learning Disabilities

And More...

The average medical school curriculum only offers 7 hours of training on this extensive subject – if it’s offered at all.

Nutritionists, Health Coaches, Nurses, Mid-Wives, Doulas, Fitness Professionals, and other wellness practitioners usually do not receive any formal training in this area.

Most of the training that is available in this field is highly clinical in nature and doesn’t translate well into the practical and real-world guidance that your clients need.

While many health professionals jump straight into detoxification protocols, the highest value to your client is in the ability to assess, identify, and eliminate sources of toxicity.

Rise Above Hype With Solid Research

Much of the conversation around toxins geared towards the general public is filled with sensational, fear-based language that pushes more people away than it invites in. In Talking Toxins, you’re presented with a solid, research based education – all materials are fully cited.

“The Talking Toxins course is helping me to bring more of the preventive side of environmental health into my practice in ways that motivate my patients and help them in their decisions towards healthier choices. Lara leads by example in teaching how to talk with clients about toxins and environmental chemicals in ways that are simple, actionable, and avoid overwhelm. The added bonus is Lara’s practical discussions of business integration, including how to strengthen our niche, or how to start developing one. I highly recommend this course!”

— Stefanie Lundell, MD, MPH, Occupational and Environmental Medicine

“My experience exceeded my expectations. I felt like I came into the Talking Toxins course with a fair amount of knowledge, but knew I needed guidance on how to present information and justify my recommendations without overwhelming my audience. The information Lara presents coupled with the advice she provides was what I needed to up my literacy around toxins, making it easier to have conversations. I definitely came away feeling like the money and time I invested was well spent. I also love the safe space Lara has created for practitioners to ask questions, post recent news, and start discussions within her private Facebook Group and monthly calls.”

– Nora Ureste

“I am an NTP and thought I knew a good amount of information on health but this course was so eye-opening and I learned so much! I also love how the material provided was easy to consume. I think I am still shocked about buying ferments in glass as one of my favorites is a beet kraut that comes in a bag, but no longer will I be buying this and will continue to support a local company to me! I am excited to take this information I learned from you and put it into my work.”

— Jessica Erceg, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP)

Toxins, detoxification, and avoiding endocrine disruptors is a major pillar in my program and I’m just so blessed to find Lara and her work because she really helped me through it all. I’ve taken almost every one of her programs! My clients and the women that I serve have the right to know what these things are doing to their bodies. Women want to know products. They want to know, ‘Okay, tell me what makeup should I use. Tell me what pots and pans should I use or cleaning products.’ I don’t have the time to do all of that due diligence… you’ve done that for us. That has been really powerful for me and my community!”

— Amy Medling, CHC & Author of Healing PCOS: A 21-Day Plan for Reclaiming Your Health and Life with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

“As much as I love food, I always understand that health is like a bicycle wheel; there are many spokes on the bicycle wheel and you have to address all of that in order to be comprehensive and really show up for people. While you talk about stress management, food, and lifestyle, I know that there are things that people are using: personal care products, kitchen tools, etc., that people are using multiple times a day that are impacting their endocrine health. I felt like taking this course was really, really important for me to do that and it has really helped my practice to be way more thorough, which I’ve gotten a lot of great feedback about.”

– Elisa Haggarty, Functional Nutrition & Lifestyle Expert

“In considering health issues, it’s important to clear the home and body of toxic exposures that are holding us back from our goals. In my own practice and teaching, I consider toxins to be at the top of the list of agents we need to address and eliminate. This is why Lara Adler’s work is so critical. She teaches us about a piece of the puzzle that’s too often overlooked! As practitioners we have to ensure that the body can process the things that we’re bringing in. This is a given in functional medicine and functional medicine nutrition, and it’s also a given that exposure to low levels of environmental toxins is more widespread, is long-lasting, and is increasing over time. The total body burden of these toxins can act to cause physiological dysfunction, and it becomes one of the triggers that causes that tipping point that can lead to chronic illness in people who are more susceptible. Bottom line: You can’t get better without addressing your toxic exposure and Lara will show you how.

— Andrea Nakayama, Functional Medicine Nutritionist and Founder of Functional Nutrition Alliance

✔ You want the confidence to “talk toxins” to your audience in a way that’s engaging and empowering

✔ You are eager to learn about how to toxins affect us, but don’t want to spend the thousands of hours needed to understand the topic

“The information in [this course] is HUGELY important to those of us in the field who are working with those with compromised health. It’s a bit of a disservice to counsel others on how to live a healthy existence and not provide consideration for these elements that are embedded into our cultural experience. It seems like this information should be part and parcel of any solid counseling nutrition program and frankly, (and in retrospect), I’m surprised it isn’t.”

– Karen Shoshana, Functional Nutritionist & Integrative Health Coach

Lara’s program has helped me present the dark topic of endocrine disruptors in a positive and empowering way that gets my clients excited about making wholesome changes without feeling overwhelmed and confused. The done for you guides took out hours of research I would have had to do in order to deliver the content. Very grateful for the program!”

— Magdalena Wszelaki, Certified Nutrition Coach and Founder of Hormones Balance

Incorporating the toxin conversation into my practice has been a game changer! No matter the complexity of my client’s health condition, weaving information regarding toxin reduction – the what, the whys and the hows – enables me to have greater, deeper impact and success with my clients. Lara’s teaching style is thorough and she helps to make this very complicated topic easy to understand!”

— Christi Cass, Integrative Health Coach & Business Mentor

“Toxins are an underrepresented area when it comes to health and wellness. Most practitioners talk about detoxing the body, but cannot adequately educate on removing environmental toxins from their homes, workplaces, and self-care regime. Lara Adler is blazing a trail into the topic of environmental toxins with her expert knowledge. Her enthusiasm and passion for the subject is apparent from the moment you begin talking with her. Having interviewed her and witnessed her teachings, I’m confident that you will feel supported by her dedication as an educator.”

— Summer Bock, Herbalist, Master Fermentationist, and founder of GutRebuilding.com

When I enrolled in [this course], I had NO idea how it would change my practice, income, and life. Clients can find the conversation about toxins overwhelming, so I focus on what we have 100% control over: what we put IN our bodies and ON our bodies. As I really looked into skin care companies, I wasn’t finding anything that was 100% transparent AND high-performing, so when I discovered Beautycounter, I was thrilled. This partnership has been a game-changer in my life! My income has more than tripled and I’m working less! Thank you Lara for further opening my eyes to these issues and your commitment to honesty, integrity, health and safety!”

— Emily Geizer, Wellness and Skin Care Expert

I have been studying Environmental Toxins for the last 10 years and have information related to them embedded into programs in my practice however, now I’m finally making this topic more front and center in my practice. Thanks Lara, for lighting a fire under my butt!”

— Sarah Reilly, CNE, CNC

My “fluency” in toxins has officially been taken to the next level! My friends, colleagues and clients are thinking of me as an expert and coming to me for advice and with questions. AWESOME. Being able to discuss environmental toxins in a knowledgeable and APPROACHABLE way has completely taken my practice to a different level and has singled me out as special in a lot of people’s eyes, which is great! Lara, you are such a gifted teacher. Thank you for bringing this information to the world and for empowering us to lead the way for our clients, friends and families. Being part of this group has meant I feel like I’m making a meaningful difference in the world EVERY DAY.”

— Elijah Selby, Holistic Health Coach

Hi, I'm Lara Adler, and I teach health coaches, nutritionists, and other holistic health practitioners how to eliminate the #1 thing holding their clients back from the results they are seeking - the unaddressed link between chemicals and chronic health problems.

I train practitioners to become experts in everyday toxic exposures so they can improve client outcomes without spending hundreds of hours researching on their own (because you’ve got a practice to run!).

I merge the most current research in environmental health with practical, no-nonsense approaches so you can implement powerful new tools to reduce toxic exposures for your clients.

Combining environmental health education and business consulting, I’ve helped thousands of students in over 25 countries around the world elevate their skillset, get better results for their clients, and become sought out leaders in the growing environmental health & detoxification field.

The world of environmental toxins can be

This is why I’ve spent the past 8+ years researching what I call the What, Where, How and What Now? of chemicals in our environment:

What: What Chemicals?
Where:  Where are they lurking?
How:  How do they affect us?
What Now?:  What we as practitioners, and individuals can do about them?

I’ve spent years talking to people about environmental toxins to understand how to connect with them in powerful, motivating ways, rather than coming from a place of preaching, lecturing, or fear-mongering. (I’ve made all the awful, cringe-worthy mistakes there are – I’ll make sure you don’t make them too!)

Talking Toxins’ goal is to leave you informed, inspired, and totally capable of engaging with others in a powerful and inspiring way so that you can help more people achieve optimal health and so you and your business can thrive.

Learning about toxins can be hard, overwhelming, and time consuming: you don’t have to re-invent the wheel and you don’t have to do it alone!

Do I need to be a health professional to take this course?

The Talking Toxins course is designed for health professionals, but you do not have to be one to benefit from what you’ll learn.

Most of my students are health professionals like: health coaches, nutritionists, nurses, chiropractors, acupuncturists, occupational therapists, doula/midwives, etc.. I also have a lot of healthy-living bloggers, and healthy-living product consultants for companies like Beautycounter and Doterra as students, as learning about environmental toxins benefits their business.

A small number of my students are super motivated moms, or people on their own healing journey who are seeking ways to decrease their toxic load. If this is you, you’re welcome to join!

What is the format of this course?

Talking Toxins is a self-paced online course consisting of 5 modules (28 lessons).

Each module consists of a series of lessons delivered in a video presentation format. Written transcripts and audio downloads for each lesson will be made available on our course membership page.

What is the time commitment for this course?

Talking Toxins is a 5-week, 5-module course that includes a total of 10 hours of lessons. Each week a new module is made available, so on average it will take ~2 hours per week to complete.

Is this course a detox / do you teach detox protocols?

This course is not a detox in the conventional sense, although by following the recommendations throughout this course, you will be able to guide your clients on removing or reducing toxins from their daily environment, thereby “detoxing” your client’s living spaces. In order for our bodies to effectively detox, we need to ease the burden of chemicals it’s trying to process, and we do that by reducing our exposure

Additionally, this course does not teach detoxification protocols: this is outside of the scope of practice for many of my students. The first, most important, and most overlooked step in detoxification is actually avoidance, which is exactly what you’ll learn inside this course!

Will you be addressing ALL toxins in this course?

In this course we focus on the ubiquitous and harmful exposures to toxins that are the easiest for your clients or patients to address – what I consider to be the non-negotiables. This includes the products that we buy and use every single day that contain harmful chemicals. This is a “foundations” levels course that teaches you how to have the biggest impact, with the easiest interventions.

How is this course different from your other offerings?

If you’ve been a follower of mine for a while, you may have noticed that this course is similar to the now retired Tools for Teaching Toxicity, and Blueprint courses.

Talking Toxins is a brand new course that merges together much of the material that was originally covered in both Tools & Blueprint, which are no longer available, along with new content not included in either of those programs. If you are a former Tools or Blueprint student, special upgrade pricing is available for you – please email me at lara@laraadler.com for details.

The Talking Toxins course is the precursor to the advanced Certificate Course in Environmental Health, which goes much deeper into various aspects of this space and offers highly personalized business consulting in small group formats.

I've researched a lot about toxins. Will information in this course be “new” to me?

While it’s impossible for me to know what you already know, I will say that this course is NOT just about the facts or what the research says. This course also helps you to take that information and integrate it into the work that you’re already doing, or offer insights and perspective shifts on how you can talk about toxins with your clients or family in a way that’s less likely to overwhelm them or shut them down. Information is not enough. We must also know how to use it, and how to apply it in order for us to benefit from it.

Do you cite your sources?

My students are super-nerds like me, and like to follow the crumb trail of citations to deeper research. The lesson transcripts for this course are fully cited and contain over 300 citations!  The vast majority of my research comes form well respected, peer reviewed scientific journals (none of it comes from random blogs or Wikipedia!). I’ve woven together information from literally thousands of resources, both online and off to offer a unique, real world perspective about environmental toxins.

Can't I just do this research on my own?

Maybe. But will you?

In my experience people just don’t, because this field is VAST and DEEP and COMPLICATED! It’s taken me years of research and thousands of hours to create this course.

Why re-create the wheel? Part of what makes this training so great is that I take all complexity and distill it into small, easy, and actionable steps. I’ve also been doing this research for nearly 10 years now, and have hundreds of online and offline resources at my disposal that help me to better understand this complex field of chemical toxins. So, sure, while you technically can do this research yourself, I can just about promise you that you won’t want to!

Can I share some of the course material with clients?

I designed this course to be EASY for you, and that includes providing you with materials – specifically the 10 white-labeled handouts – that you can share directly with your clients.

During your second week in the course, you’ll get access to all 10 of these client-facing resources in Microsoft Word format. You’re free to edit them however you wish, add your logo, branding, etc. These are written in a client-facing language that’s clear and easy to understand.

Additionally, the content inside the Practitioner Talking Point handouts are also available for you to use as Instagram, FB or other social media copy, as soundbites when talking to your clients, or making videos.

The rest of the course materials may not be shared, as it’s for your educational purposes only.

To read the full details about what you can and can’t share, please click here to access the Terms & Conditions.

Do you have a scholarship program?

YES! Low-income and BIPOC communities in the US and abroad often experience disproportionate exposures to environmental chemicals. These communities also often lack access to healthy food and green spaces and lack access to education around helping to minimize exposures and optimize health.

My goal in offering scholarship seats to this course is to help bring practical, and actionable education to those communities who need it most.

Full scholarships are being made available for students who can demonstrate that they are actively working at a community level within low-income, and/or BIPOC communities on some facet of health education. At the moment, we are making 12 scholarships available each year.

If you feel that you meet the requirements for this scholarship, please click here to fill out the application.

Do you have a refund policy?

Yes! If, after enrolling in Talking Toxins and checking out the course materials, you decide it’s not a good fit for you, just email my team at contact@laraadler.com within 7 days of your purchase and we’ll refund 100% of your money. After 7 days refunds are not offered.
